Subtitle: Addiction & Behavioural Patterns — An Interactive Session
Inside the Loop was designed around a simple but powerful insight: most students don't fully understand why they do the things they do. This interactive session unpacked the psychology behind habit formation, addiction, and unhealthy behavioural cycles — in a way that was engaging, non-judgmental, and immediately applicable to real student life.
Rather than a traditional lecture format, Inside the Loop was built around student participation — using games, real-life examples, and self-awareness exercises to make the content meaningful and personal for every participant.
Bingo Game — Students identified habits and patterns in their own lives through a fun,
anonymous bingo format.
Real-Life Examples — Relatable student-life scenarios used to illustrate how addictive
cycles begin and why they persist.
Self-Awareness Exercises — Guided reflection activities helping students identify
their own patterns and emotional triggers.
Open Discussion — A safe space where students could ask questions and share experiences,
including anonymous participation.
How habits form neurologically — the habit loop explained simply
Why addictions happen — and why willpower alone is not enough
Practical strategies for breaking unhealthy cycles
How to build healthier routines step by step
When and how to seek professional support
The use of games and interactive activities made difficult topics accessible and engaging. Students who might normally tune out a lecture became active participants because the format met them where they were — not where we expected them to be.
